True goodness
- Looks beyond its own interests;
- Is not proud, brash or arrogant;
- Does not seek attention:
- Thrive in quietness and obscurity;
- Focuses on what’s beneath the surface;
- Seeks to unite rather than divide;
- Prioritizes the vulnerable;
- Cares for the outsider;
- Speaks on behalf of those with no voice;
- Leaves healing in its wake.
什麼是真正的「善」？
- 不自私。
- 不自滿、不粗魯、不輕慢。
- 不刻意吸引別人的目光。
- 靜靜自持、默默成長。
- 專注內在的本質而非外在的表象。
- 尋求合意和圓滿而不是歧見和分開。
- 優先照顧弱勢者。
- 縱便和自己不熟的(圈外)人，也要付出關心。
- 勇敢為沈默的人主張正義。
- 等待領悟啓動自然痊癒的能力。

“The Journey Beyond” 這本書的作者是一位風景攝影師。有鑑美國社會被兩極化的意識型態所撕裂，他選了一些不同的作品，針對每一幅的創作往自己的內心去反省思考，希望透過照片的善美，可以引發大家放下兩極的思考，譬如共和、民主兩黨；保守派和自由派；閉關和開放等等，而是從自己的內心去想更根本的問題，而理解並實踐在有限的生命裏，對我們真正重要的「善」。
台灣有藍+黃、綠的對立，這次總統大選加入了白，所以台灣現在是藍+黃、綠、白、的對立，美國的那一套的表面，我們似乎學得很好，只看顏色不論是非。
什麼時候我們可以開始，針公共的議題，可以放下顏色，平心靜氣、就事論事地看清楚何者是何者非呢？相信這也是台灣有識之士，衷心所期望的。
台灣不應該只是小美國，台灣應該是台灣。
