In plant names, the Latin officinale means \u2018of the storeroom\u2019, referring to the place in a monastery where medicines were kept. In some medical traditions ginger is regarded almost as a panacea.  Its ability to alleviate queasiness, pain, indigestion and the symptoms of common colds does appear to be supported by clinical evidence\u2026\u2026**<\/p>\n\n\n\n
