Anxiety can enhance self-awareness of both our strengths and areas for growth. It can remind us of the need to be compassionate to ourselves\u2014something sorely lacking in our society. Anxiety can also enhance our relationships. If we harness it properly, it can help us create a deeper emotional bond with other people. We can learn to be vulnerable with others by sharing our inner world with them and by giving them an opportunity to take care of us. And finally, anxiety can help us identify strengths we never realized we had. We can learn to accept that, as humans, our knowledge and control are limited.
