Your camp must be holy, so that he will not see among you anything indecent and turn away from Anthony a quotation ascribed to the Prophet Muhammad says that if the anus were to be scraped clean with pebbles, then an odd number had to be used, suggesting that the early Arabs might have used stone scrapers as bum Louis 1684, when he opted to surround himself with a crimson curtain, King Louis XIV could frequently be found chatting with others while sat with his breeches around his ankles and his bum pressed firmly into his close-stool &#8211; a wooden box that housed a removable potty. Despite suggestions from his architects, the king found the idea of a specific toilet room to be a waste of money and effort, and so his daily bowel movements were conducted wherever he happened to be at the time. His relaxed attitude to privacy didn&#8217;t apply to his subjects, however, and those who rode in a carriage with him were forced to hold their bladders for the entire journey, even if they were
