Once upon a time there was a Zoo called City. <\/p>\n
A strong Tiger kept the safety and efficiency of the the Zoo, and would bite and might eat any animal he found weak or lazy.<\/p>\n
In the good old times, there were animals ranked and badged as VP or xVP, somewhat like that. It rumored that they were indispensable backbone of the Zoo and responsible for delivering important KPIs. <\/p>\n
One day, an incident happened that a VP mystically disappeared; however no one was aware of it. <\/p>\n
And a few days later, another VP diapered again, but still no one was aware.<\/p>\n
Gradually the disappearance of VPs becomes a biologically BAU in City Zoo that no one would be impacted and really no one would need to care.<\/p>\n
Then one day, a guard force staff disappeared, it immediately created a lot of chaos and noises. The issue had been quickly identified and escalated to the seniors, and up to the Tiger, the City Zoo governor, and a search team was swiftly formed and operating. <\/p>\n
Because as a Zoo, it won’t function without a guard force at the front gate. It might be because otherwise animals might be roaming out of the Zoo and found inferior positions outside, in the terrible city, which would eventually impact VOE.<\/p>\n
A postmortem study had been completed for the investigation on the missing guard force and a comprehensive corrective action plan had been implemented. But up to now after years had passed, still no one had ever found the Where-About-Unknown of those missing VPs. And I doubt anyone was aware of or care about the serious issue.<\/p>\n
Since the City Zoo has kept functioning well whatsoever and there are signs showing recently that it even could endeavor to cut 15% cost without impacting the service level to all visitors. It’s an amazing City Zoo. <\/p>\n
So this is a story about the legacy City Zoo. A VP (Very Important) story to tell your staffs if they complain about their current job.<\/p>\n
