Burning fossil fuels causes climate change that floods coastal cities. Excessive chemical fertilizers on fields add little to crop yields but instead kill fish in our rivers and ocean. One region\u2019s dam to capture water leaves millions downstream with empty taps. Cutting forests for timber lead to droughts hundreds of miles away. Plowing soils creates deserts. And hunters and fishers cause extinction that destabilize entire ecosystems\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u6211\u5011\u4e00\u76f4\u5728\u7834\u58de\u6211\u5011\u81ea\u5df1\u8cf4\u4ee5\u751f\u5b58\u7684\u751f\u614b\u74b0\u5883\uff1a\u7528\u77f3\u5316\u71c3\u6599\uff0c\u4f7f\u5f97\u5168\u7403\u6696\u5316\uff0c\u6ff1\u6d77\u57ce\u5e02\u8b8a\u5f97\u5bb9\u6613\u6df9\u6c34\uff1b\u7528\u4e86\u592a\u591a\u7684\u5316\u5b78\u80a5\u6599\uff0c\u6c61\u67d3\u4e86\u6c34\u8cea\uff0c\u4ee4\u5176\u4e2d\u7684\u9b5a\u985e\u7121\u6cd5\u751f\u5b58\uff1b\u5728\u4e0a\u6e38\u7bc9\u58e9\uff0c\u9020\u6210\u4e0b\u6e38\u7121\u6c34\u53ef\u7528\uff1b\u6feb\u4f10\u68ee\u6797\u53d6\u7528\u6728\u6750\uff0c\u5c0e\u81f4\u6c23\u5019\u5bb9\u6613\u4e7e\u65f1\uff1b\u6df1\u8015\u571f\u58e4\uff0c\u4fc3\u9032\u6c99\u6f20\u5316\uff1b\u904e\u5ea6\u6f01\u7375\uff0c\u6ec5\u7d55\u4e86\u7269\u7a2e\uff0c\u7834\u58de\u4e86\u751f\u614b\u7684\u5e73\u8861\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And enlarge the scale of dead zone by &#8220;huge amounts of pollution, especially nitrogen runoff from fertilized fields and sewage from cities. The flush of nitrogen, added by phosphates, stimulates the growth of booms of algae and cyanobacteria(known as blue-green algae) that can cover large areas. They can be toxic. And even is not, as the algae dies, the rotting absorbs so much oxygen that there is none left in the water. Very little can live without oxygen. The outcome is dead zones\u2014areas of oceans where everything had died.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u5316\u5b78\u80a5\u6599\u4e2d\u7684\u6c2e\uff0c\u4ee5\u53ca\u57ce\u5e02\u5ee2\u6c34\u4e2d\u7684\u78f7\u5316\u7269\uff0c\u6703\u9020\u6210\u6c34\u7684\u512a\u6c27\u5316\uff0c\u4e00\u65b9\u9762\u53ef\u80fd\u6709\u6bd2\u7684\u85cd\u7da0\u85fb\u6703\u904e\u5ea6\u589e\u751f\uff0c\u53e6\u5916\u4e00\u65b9\u9762\u7576\u85cd\u7da0\u85fb\u8150\u6557\u6b7b\u4ea1\u7684\u6642\u5019\uff0c\u547c\u5438\u4f5c\u7528\u6703\u8017\u53bb\u6c34\u4e2d\u73cd\u8cb4\u7684\u6c27\u3002\u7121\u6c27\u7684\u6c34\u4e2d\uff0c\u5f88\u5c11\u751f\u7269\u80fd\u5920\u751f\u5b58\uff0c\u5c31\u6703\u8b8a\u6210\u4e86\u4e00\u6f6d\u7684\u6b7b\u6c34\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe rising concentration of carbon dioxide in the air is resulting in more of the gas dissolving in the ocean\u2026changes the chemistry in the oceans. They are on average 26 percent more acid than 200 years ago. This matters because many marine animals need calcium carbonate to make shells and skeleton in the water, and in acid conditions, less of this is available. Corals, clams, sea urchins, and many other species will find it harder to absorb enough calcium carbonate to grow and flourish\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u6211\u5011\u6392\u653e\u5230\u7a7a\u6c23\u4e2d\u7684\u4e8c\u6c27\u5316\u78b3\uff0c(\u6709\u5927\u6982\u4e09\u5206\u4e4b\u4e00)\u6703\u6eb6\u89e3\u65bc\u6c34\u4e2d\uff0c\u9020\u6210\u6c34\u8cea\u9178\u5316\uff0c\u6d77\u6c34\u4e2d\u7684\u9223\u8cea\u5c07\u6e1b\u5c11\uff0c\u9019\u6703\u4f7f\u5f97\u6c34\u4e2d\u751f\u7269\u96e3\u4ee5\u5438\u6536\u5230\u8db3\u5920\u7684\u9223\uff0c\u7121\u6cd5\u9577\u6210\u5f37\u5065\u7684\u9aa8\u9abc\u6216\u5305\u8986\u5728\u8eab\u5916\u7684\u786c\u6bbc\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cA growing concern is that more and more methane from rotting plants that has been trapped in the Arctic permafrost is now bubbling up. Methane is a greenhouse gas with even more warming potential than CO2\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMelting Siberian permafrost \u2014soil that has been permanently frozen for more than 2 million years\u2014collapses into a rivet valley. The melting of permafrost is releasing huge amount of carbon dioxide and methane, which will accelerate global warming\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u5168\u7403\u6696\u5316\u6642\uff0c\u5317\u6975\u548c\u897f\u4f2f\u5229\u4e9e\u5730\u5340\u7684\u6c38\u51cd\u5c64\u7684\u878d\u89e3\uff0c\u5c07\u91cb\u653e\u51fa\u66f4\u591a\u7684\u4e8c\u6c27\u5316\u78b3\u53ca\u7532\u70f7\uff0c\u6703\u60e1\u6027\u5faa\u74b0\u5730\u53c8\u66f4\u52a0\u52a0\u901f\u4e86\u5168\u7403\u7684\u6696\u5316\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c\u2026While the Antarctic is a continent surrounded by ocean, the Arctic is an ocean Siu rounded by land. While the deep ice on Antarctic has helped keep the South Pole region cool, warming in Arctic had so far been much greater, resulting in a dramatic loss of sea ice that is already proving extremely challenging for many species.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u5357\u6975\u662f\u4e00\u584a\u9678\u5730\uff0c\u5317\u6975\u5247\u662f\u4e00\u500b\u5927\u51b0\u584a\uff0c\u9019\u4e5f\u662f\u70ba\u4ec0\u9ebc\u5728\u5168\u7403\u6696\u5316\u7684\u5f71\u97ff\u4e4b\u4e0b\uff0c\u5317\u6975\u7684\u51b0\u5c64\u6703\u6bd4\u5357\u6975\u7684\u878d\u5316\u5f97\u66f4\u5feb\u7684\u539f\u56e0\u3002\u5df2\u7d93\u6709\u5f88\u591a\u7269\u7a2e\u7684\u751f\u5b58\uff0c\u90fd\u53d7\u5230\u4e86\u6975\u5927\u7684\u5a01\u8105\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c\u2026The ice algae are the marine equivalent of terrestrial grassland. They are the main food for Antarctic krill\u2014among our planet\u2019s most abundant creature.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Krill are small, prawn-like crustaceans, no longer than two inches and with an average life of seven years, they spend most of their time in the depths, often in vast swarms that can cover hundreds of square miles. The krill swim to the surface under the cover of night, when they feed on phytoplankton(microalgae) in the open ocean or use their rake-like bristles to scrape algae from the ice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The total world krill population is estimated at about 780 trillion\u2014weighing more than the total human population. They have no seasons\u2014no disruptive patterns such as dry-season fires or winter freezing\u2014no part of the year when nature is dormant. So the constant cycles of growth, procreation, death, decomposition, and rebirth are in overdrive all year round.
