Dotted an average every eight miles along the 2192-mile route, more than 270 backcountry shelters have welcomed hikers on a first-come, first-served basis since the beginning of the trail\u2019s inception eventually completion in 1937.\u201d*<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u963f\u5e15\u62c9\u5951\u6b65\u9053(Appalachian Trail, AT)\uff0c\u5168\u9577\u51712192\u82f1\u91cc(3592\u516c\u91cc)\uff0c\u5176\u4e2d\u5171\u5efa\u4e86270\u9593\u907f\u96e3\u5c71\u5c4b\uff0c\u5e73\u5747\u6bcf8\u82f1\u91cc(\u7d0413\u516c\u91cc)\u5c31\u6709\u4e00\u9593\uff0c\u81ea\u5f9e1937\u5e74\u5168\u90e8\u5b8c\u6210\u958b\u59cb\uff0c\u5c31\u4ee5\u5148\u5230\u5148\u7528\u7684\u539f\u5247\uff0c\u4f9b\u5065\u884c\u8005\u4f7f\u7528\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe Appalachian Trail Conservancy defines the term shelter, sometimes referred to lean-to, as a \u2018three-sided structure without bunks or floors, intended as overnight housing for hikers.\u2019 The term on the AT can also include enclosed structures, unlocked cabins, and the AMC hut system in the Whites. Built, maintained, and preserved with thousands of hours by dedicated trail clubs, ridgerunners, and volunteers, shelters have always been and continue to be an integral part of the trail experience.\u201d*<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u963f\u5e15\u62c9\u5951\u6b65\u9053\u7dad\u8b77\u7d44\u7e54(Appalachian Trail Conservancy, ATC)\uff0c\u5b9a\u7fa9\u907f\u96e3\u5c71\u5c4b(shelter)\u70ba\uff1a\u4e09\u9762\u6709\u906e\u853d\uff0c\u4f46\u662f\u6c92\u6709\u5e8a\u8216\u4e5f\u6c92\u6709\u5730\u677f\uff0c\u50c5\u4f9b\u767b\u5c71\u5065\u884c\u7684\u4eba\u77ed\u66ab\u904e\u591c\u7684\u5efa\u7bc9\u7269\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u4f46\u5728\u4eca\u65e5\uff0c\u963f\u5e15\u62c9\u5951\u6b65\u9053\u7684\u907f\u96e3\u5c71\u5c4b(shelter)\uff0c\u73fe\u5728\u4e5f\u5305\u62ec\u56db\u9762\u90fd\u6709\u906e\u853d\u7684\u5efa\u7bc9\u7269\u3001\u4e0d\u9396\u7684\u5c0f\u6728\u5c4b\u3001\u548c\u5927\u5c71\u5c4b\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u907f\u96e3\u5c71\u5c4b\u662f\u7531\u5c71\u6703\u3001\u5fd7\u5de5\u53ca\u7576\u5730\u4eba(\u5c24\u5176\u662f\u963f\u5e15\u62c9\u5951\u4eba)\u5171\u540c\u7dad\u8b77\u7684\u3002\u4f4f\u907f\u96e3\u5c71\u5c4b\uff0c\u662f\u5065\u884c\u963f\u5e15\u62c9\u5951\u6b65\u9053\uff0c\u4e3b\u8981\u9ad4\u9a57\u7684\u4e00\u90e8\u4efd\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe early shelters were built from stone or a mix of stone and logs. The original Adirondack-style shelters were built directly on the ground with dirt floors, and almost all had wire-frame cots with canvas covers. Some had internal fireplaces, but most had semicircular fire pits located at the front of structure to provide light and warmth inside\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u65e9\u671f\u7684\u907f\u96e3\u5c0f\u5c4b\uff0c\u662f\u7528\u77f3\u584a\u6216\u7528\u77f3\u584a\u548c\u6728\u693f\u84cb\u7684\u3002\u5178\u578b\u7684\u662f\u76f4\u63a5\u5f9e\u6ce5\u571f\u5730\u76f4\u63a5\u5f80\u4e0a\u5efa\u8d77\u4f86\uff0c\u7528\u7dda\u7db2\u52a0\u4e0a\u5e06\u5e03\u84cb\u3002\u6709\u4e9b\u9084\u6709\u58c1\u7210\uff0c\u800c\u5927\u591a\u662f\u5728\u5c0f\u5c4b\u524d\u9762\u534a\u5713\u5f62\u7684\u706b\u5751\uff0c\u53ef\u4ee5\u71d2\u6728\u982d\u4fdd\u6696\u4e26\u4e14\u63d0\u4f9b\u591c\u9593\u7684\u7167\u660e\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(\u4ee5\u524d\u907f\u96e3\u5c0f\u5c4b\u5927\u591a\u4f4d\u65bc\u79c1\u5730\uff0c\u907f\u96e3\u5c0f\u5c4b\u6709\u58c1\u7210\u3001\u706b\u5751\uff0c\u53ea\u8981\u662f\u8fb2\u4eba\u6703\u4f7f\u7528)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cEarly construction efforts had builders cutting and peeling logs on-site at makeshift lumberyards and then building the shelter in place. In remote locations, materials and equipment would have to be hauled in for miles. Some shelters, \u2026, required to be brought in by helicopter. The United State Forest Service(USFS) wooden-plank design, still common in Virginia and parts of Vermont, became popular because the lighter building materials eased the process of bringing supplies to the shelter site and did not require the specialized knowledge of building techniques used to construct log shelters.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u65e9\u671f\u5efa\u907f\u96e3\u5c0f\u5c4b\uff0c\u6703\u5c31\u8fd1\u5efa\u81e8\u6642\u7684\u4f5c\u574a\uff0c\u525d\u9664\u6728\u693f\u7684\u6a39\u76ae\uff0c\u7136\u5f8c\u5728\u73fe\u5730\u84cb\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u5728\u6bd4\u8f03\u504f\u9060\u7684\u5730\u65b9\uff0c\u5efa\u6750\u548c\u6a5f\u5177\u5c31\u5fc5\u9808\u62d6\u904b\u9032\u53bb\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u6709\u4e9b\u5730\u65b9\uff0c\u5247\u5fc5\u9808\u900f\u904e\u76f4\u6607\u6a5f\u540a\u639b\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u7f8e\u570b\u6797\u52d9\u5c40\u7528\u6728\u7247\u84cb\u5c4b\u7684\u8a2d\u8a08\uff0c\u4e00\u65b9\u9762\u6750\u8cea\u8f15\u5de7\uff0c\u53e6\u5916\u4e00\u65b9\u9762\u5de5\u4eba\u4e5f\u4e0d\u9700\u4ff1\u5099\u7528\u6728\u693f\u84cb\u5c4b\u7684\u7279\u5225\u6280\u80fd\uff0c\u6240\u4ee5\u4e5f\u975e\u5e38\u53d7\u5230\u6b61\u8fce\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c\u2026The biggest concentrations of shelters still in use were built between 1980 and 1999, and fewer than 35 new shelters have been built in the last 29 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u5728\u963f\u5e15\u62c9\u5951\u6b65\u9053\u4e0a\uff0c\u76ee\u524d\u4f7f\u7528\u4e2d\u7684\u907f\u96e3\u5c0f\u5c4b\uff0c\u5927\u591a\u662f\u5efa\u65bc1980\u52301999\u5e74\u4e4b\u9593\u7684\uff0c\u4e0d\u523035\u5ea7\u662f\u5728\u6700\u8fd120\u5e74\u5167\u5efa\u6210\u7684\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At shelters at a glance:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Highest elevation: 6285 feet<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lowest elevation: 290 feet<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Smallest shelters(sleep 4)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Largest hut(sleeps 90)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Average number of sleepers: 6 or 8<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Shortest distance between shelters: 0.1 miles<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Shortest distance between shelters: 32.2 miles<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Oldest(non-hut) shekters: built in 1928<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Newest shelters: built in 2017 and 2018<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u963f\u5e15\u62c9\u5951\u7684\u907f\u96e3\u5c71\u5c4b\uff0c\u6563\u4f48\u65bc\u6d77\u62d488\u516c\u5c3a\u52301915\u516c\u5c3a\u4e4b\u9593\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u907f\u96e3\u5c71\u5c4b\u4e4b\u9593\uff0c\u6700\u9577\u7684\u9593\u8ddd\u7d0451.8\u516c\u91cc(\u7d04\u7576\u662f\u516d\u9806\u5c71\u7e31\u8d70\u8def\u7dda\u7684\u4e00\u534a)\uff0c\u770b\u4f86\u5982\u679c\u8981\u7a7f\u8d8a\u90a3\u4e00\u6bb5\uff0c\u662f\u4e0d\u63f9\u5e33\u4e5f\u662f\u4e0d\u884c\u7684\u4e86\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u6700\u53e4\u8001\u7684\u907f\u96e3\u5c71\u5c4b\u5efa\u65bc1928\u5e74\uff0c\u4f4f\u963f\u5e15\u62c9\u5951\u6b65\u9053\u7684\u5c71\u5c4b\uff0c\u56e0\u6b64\u5c31\u7279\u5225\u6709\u4e86\u6b77\u53f2\u7684\u60c5\u61f7\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u6700\u65b0\u7684\u907f\u96e3\u5c71\u5c4b\uff0c\u662f2018\u5e74\u84cb\u7684\uff0c\u5982\u662f\u770b\u4f86\uff0c\u6b65\u9053\u7684\u7dad\u8b77\u662f\u7d93\u5e38\u6027\u5728\u9032\u884c\u7684\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Shelter etiquette:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1. Make room for other hikers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2. Keep the ground litter-free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">3. Make phone calls and smoke away from the shelter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">4. Don\u2019t cut down trees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">5. Dispose of waste liquid. Walk at least 100 feet away from the shelter and 200 feet from the water resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">6. If a shelter has a privy, use it. If not dig a \u2018cathole\u2019&nbsp;&nbsp;200 feet from the shelter(six to eight inches deep and three to four inches wide).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">7. If you snore, tent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">8. Don\u2019t tag(graffiti) the shelter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">9. Avoid eating in the shelter if at all possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">10. Use proper bear equipment when provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">11. Do not leave or burn trash or garbage in the fire pit. Don\u2019t leave extra food is the shelter, in any storage boxes, or hanging from trees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">12. Sweep out the shelter when you arrive and leave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">13. Be considerate of other hikers\u2026be considerate of others who need to get to sleep when the sun sets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u907f\u96e3\u5c71\u5c4b\u5b88\u5247<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u96d6\u7136\u963f\u5e15\u62c9\u5951\u7684\u907f\u96e3\u5c71\u5c4b\u662f\u5148\u5230\u8005\u5148\u7528\uff0c\u4f46\u662f\u5982\u679c\u662f\u5927\u5718\u9ad4\uff0c\u5247\u9ed8\u5951\u4e0a\u662f\u8981\u79ae\u8b93\u5c0f\u5718\u9ad4\u512a\u5148\u4f7f\u7528\u7684\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u6709\u516c\u5ec1\u4f7f\u7528\u516c\u5ec1\uff0c\u5982\u679c\u6c92\u6709\u5c31\u8981\u6316\u6d1e\u63a9\u57cb\uff0c\u800c\u4e14\u5730\u9ede\u8981\u9060\u96e2\u907f\u96e3\u5c71\u5c4b\/\u71df\u5730\u548c\u6c34\u6e90\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u6703\u6253\u547c\u7684\u4eba\uff0c\u8acb\u81ea\u5099\u642d\u5e33\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u4fdd\u6301\u907f\u96e3\u5c71\u5c4b\u7684\u6e05\u6f54\uff0c\u5783\u573e\u4e0d\u53ef\u711a\u71d2\uff0c\u90fd\u5e36\u4e0b\u5c71\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u4e0d\u8981\u7559\u4e0b\u4efb\u4f55\u5730\u65b9\u98df\u7269\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u65e5\u843d\u5f8c\u4fdd\u6301\u5b89\u975c\uff0c\u4ee5\u514d\u6253\u64fe\u4ed6\u4eba\u7684\u7761\u7720\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe AT was built and continues to be maintained by ordinary people. Trail volunteers\u2014more than 6,000 people of all ages and backgrounds\u2014are essential to keeping the AT vision alive by building, repairing, restoring and reshaping the trail. Club volunteers and ATC-led or club-led crews perform activities from working in visitor centers to monitoring rare plants.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u963f\u5e15\u62c9\u5951\u6b65\u9053\u7684\u7dad\u8b77\uff0c\u4e3b\u8981\u662f\u9760\u7531\u4f86\u81ea\u5404\u884c\u5404\u696d\u8d85\u904e6000\u4eba\u7684\u5fd7\u5de5\u3002\u5404\u5c71\u6703(Club)\u7684\u5fd7\u5de5\uff0c\u6216\u963f\u5e15\u62c9\u5951\u6b65\u9053\u7dad\u8b77\u7d44\u7e54\u53ca\u5c71\u6703\u4e3b\u5c0e\u7684\u4eba\u54e1\uff0c\u5247\u8ca0\u8cac\u904a\u5ba2\u4e2d\u5fc3\u7684\u904b\u4f5c\u4ee5\u53ca\u7f55\u898b\u73cd\u7a00\u690d\u7269\u7684\u4fdd\u8b77\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c\u2026The keepers of the trail take on many names: boundary monitor, caretaker, \u2018croo,\u2019 overseer, ranger, ridgerunner, sawyer, section maintainer, shelter adopter, shelter maintainer, trail crew, trail club volunteer, trail maintainer, or trail ambassador. The success and longevity of the AT relies on the shared love and commitment of these dedicate people who work to preserve it. These workers and volunteers are the heart and soul of this beloved footpath.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u963f\u5e15\u62c9\u5951\u6b65\u9053\u80fd\u5920\u7dad\u6301\u9577\u671f\u9806\u5229\u7684\u904b\u4f5c\uff0c\u5fd7\u5de5\u7684\u5949\u737b\u8207\u6295\u5165\uff0c\u5c45\u529f\u53a5\u5049\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With an estimated three to four million visitors a year, the impact of hikers can take its toll on the beloved AT. Since 1994, the nonprofit Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics, an ATC partner, has existed Ti educate and promote conservation ethics in the outdoors. The Leave No Trac principles are a set of outdoor ethical guidelines\u2026seven values\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1. Plan ahead and prepare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2. Travel and camp on durable surfaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">3. Dispose of waste properly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">4. Leave what you find.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">5. Minimize campfire impacts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">6. Respect wildlife.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">7.
